The monastery served as a significant educational and cultural center in medieval Armenia, and within its grounds stands the exquisite \u201cNeedlework\u201d khachkar (cross-stone), known for its intricate carvings. It is home to unique juniper groves that are 300\u2013400 years old, with trees reaching up to 25 meters in height.
